Mother’s Day is fast approaching, but you knew that right? If not- don’t fret! Our experts have scoured the high street and compiled a list of show stopping gifts, guaranteed to make your mum feel special on the big day.
Mother Daughter Spa Day, from £180, Champneys
Of course we love our Mums 365 days of the year, but Sunday 11th March is an entire day dedicated to showing yours just how much you truly appreciate her.
Jewellery, pyjamas and candles are solid favourites for Mothers Day, but does anyone do candles better than Jo Malone? We think not! And what Mothers Day would be complete without the forever favourite chocolates and flowers? Charbonnel et Walker and Bloom and Wild definitely check that box whilst eliminating the cliché.
If ‘spending time with you’ is your mums most cherished gift, why not spend time together whilst pampering yourselves at Champneys Spa? Or getting a culture fix at the V&A’s highly anticipated Frida Kahlo exhibition? Treating yourself at the same time!
Whether your mum is queen of the kitchen, an avid gardener or a cocktail lover we have selected gifts that suit all! Ranging from £13.50 up… Because we all know cost doesn’t equal love.
Or, match with your Mum this Mother’s Day and simply pop into Selfridges Oxford street where Kurt Geiger are hosting an exclusive hand-painted monogram service (from noon to 7pm on Saturday 10th). With prices starting at just £45 for a purse to £199 for their iconic London tote it’s a lovely way to make your gift to her that little more special.
After hours of sorting through hundreds of candidates, take a look at our absolute winners of Mothers Day gifts. Not that we are competing with our siblings?!
PS: No ‘World’s Best Mum’ mugs included.
If you already have your Mothers Day present wrapped and ready to go, why not take a look for yourself? We promise you will fall in love with at least one of our gifts!
Following a load of speculation surrounding her relationship with Liam Payne, Cheryl Cole has taken some time away from the drama to hang out with her Girls Aloud ladies.
Because what could be better than an evening with your best gal pals?
On Thursday 34-year-old Chez and BFFs Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh put their troubles behind them as they enjoyed an entire cinema room to themselves.
(We’re guessing Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding were busy…)
Taking to Instagram, Nicola shared a couple of snaps of the evening where the three girls can be seen cosying up to watch Black Panther.
‘Had the best day with my Girls. Thank you @cineworld for giving us a screen today and being so lovely. Black Panther is epic! @kimberleywalshofficial@cherylofficial xxx‘, the pop star wrote next to the pics.
But while the first photo shows the ladies looking as chic as ever – with Chez rocking a red coat, roll neck jumper and cap combo – it’s the second photo that really got fans talking after they noticed something ‘rude’.
And the mum-of-one might be an international pop star, charity ambassador and general superstar, but that didn’t stop fans calling Chez out on her cinema etiquette. ‘@cherylofficial feet.. down’, quipped one follower.
Another said: ‘There’s always one that puts their feet up on the chair in front!’, while a third joked: ‘feet off the chair u plonker!’
And a fourth wrote: ‘Check @cherylofficial out feet up on the chairs and that’.
Cheryl’s girls night out news comes after rumours surrounding her relationship with former One Directioner Liam reached an all-time high this week.
Despite allegations, the A-list pair – who share 11-month-old son Bear – continue to insist their relationship is as strong as ever.
Whatever Kim Kardashian West does, she faces criticism.
Sometimes, it has to be said, it might be a little justified (although we never advocate social media bullying or trolling) but, on other occasions, it can feel a little unfair.
The latest backlash came on International Women’s Day. That, in itself, is problematic.
When the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star decided to unveil her brand new range of feminist Kimojis, many took issue with it. Rather than taking on the atmosphere of the day, and celebrating the entrepreneurial spirit of a fellow woman, some decided to brand her a ‘fake feminist’ whilst others accused her of ‘cashing in’ on the movement.
The very fact that the reality star, who has a combined social media following of over 167 million on Instagram and Twitter alone, is getting behind these messages and showing young girls that it’s ‘cool’ to be a ‘full time feminist’, is pretty awesome.
A few others debated whether Kim – who is famous for ‘breaking the internet’ with her naked photos – is a good spokesperson for feminism. Sigh.
The E! star sums it up in her own Kimoji slogan: ‘my body, my choice’.
‘All women deserve the freedom to live their lives in the way they want. Block out society’s rules & attempts to shame you. We should all celebrate when a woman lives her life authentic to her, no matter how it differs from our lives,’ one supportive fan tweet read.
‘Thinking that Kim Kardashian is not an acceptable person to speak about international women’s day because you think the way she acts isn’t ‘appropriate’ means you are the problem not her,’ another added.
As her sister Khloe so eloquently put in a tweet recently: ‘What happened to women fixing each other’s crowns instead of trying to knock the others crown off? [sic]’.
With Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender and Tom Hiddleston among a long list of A-list stars rumoured to be replacing English actor, Daniel Craig, in the new James Bond film, we never imagined the next star would come from EastEnders’ very own Albert Square.
But little did we know, EE’s Richard Blackwood – who’s played bar owner, Vincent Hubbard, on the BBC One soap for three years – was gearing up to play the 007 agent.
Taking to Instagram, Richard, 45, shared a picture of himself in a very dapper suit, as he expressed his hopes to star in the iconic role.
He said: ‘The Next James Bond was the Quote this pic got on Twitter, let’s see! Blessings’
And fans were fully on board for the soap actor to be the next Bond, as they rushed to comment on the photo, cheering Richard on.
Now that would be massive,’ one wrote. ‘Yes you should be the next Bond #jamesbond #007′ another said. ‘The world is your Oyster my friend! Make it 007 and beyond,’ a third commented.
‘Red is my favourite colour and I’m loving the suit. Move over Séan Connery, @richardblackwood could be the sexier version of James Bond with those beautiful eyes and smile and so gorgeous and so handsome and very attractive,’ another quipped.
Others even volunteered to star alongside Richard as his leading lady, with one saying: ‘I’m offering to be his bond girl and I’m ready to kick some butt with him.’ Haha!
But while there’s no denying Richard has some pretty stiff competition – c’mon, just look at Idris – judging by a few of the actor’s Instagram snaps, we reckon he’ll have no trouble getting into action, as he shows off his ripped bod in a series of gym selfies.
There have been rumours swirling about this 'romance' for weeks...
So is Caroline Flack dating Celebrity Big Brother star Andrew Brady? It’s been the question on everyone’s lips, and we might be one step closer to getting an official answer…
The much-loved Love Island host has been sharing some social media snaps of Andrew of late – but she’s just posted the first to her Instagram profile, breaking her silence on their relationship at the same time.
The adorable photo, which was shared on Thursday night, sees them cosying up together in, what looks like, a bar.
Little Mix might have been enjoying a bit of a break recently but it hasn’t stopped them from sharing some VERY exciting news with fans.
The girls announced via their Twitter page on Wednesday that they’re set to release their fifth album in the not-too-distant future as they’re busy working on it right now – yay!
It’s official…#LM5 is actually in the works…,’ the message read. ‘We’re going to be patiently waiting for this one, it’s going to be an absolute dream! LM HQ x’
Added to the post was a gif of Leigh-Anne Pinnock with the caption: ‘We have the new album coming out this year which is really exciting’
It's official…#LM5 is actually in the works… We're going to be patiently waiting for this one, it's going to be an absolute dream! LM HQ x pic.twitter.com/KcvqINR6eD
It’s certainly provided a lot of excitement for the group’s huge fanbase who have totally gone into MELTDOWN over the announcement.
‘#LM5 !! I can’t handle this,’ one fan commented, whilst another wrote: ‘YAAAAAAS!!! can’t wait for this new era! #LM5 is gonna be amazing, we already know this!!! MIXERS ARE SO READYY’
And one simply said: ‘OMG YES YES YES YES I AGREE YES I LOVE YOU SO MUCH #LM5’
Meanwhile some followers urged Leigh-Anne, Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall not to rush into putting the record out.
‘I hope the girls have fun while working on the next best selling girl group and their next #1 album,we are waiting for it,please don’t rush it and let them put their signature touch on it,’ one fan added.
If their past schedule is anything to go by, the group tend to release their albums around November time so sadly fans have got quite a few months to wait until they can hear the latest – sorry, guys.
That doesn’t mean there’ll be no Little Mix action until then though as the ladies announced last year that they’ll be embarking on a greatest hits tour this summer, which kicks off in July.
The perfect way to pass the time until LM5 comes out, right?
Just when we thought that Chris Clark and Amber Dowding were one of the strongest couples in Essex, the split rumours started.
The pair, who moved in together at Christmas, are said to have ‘drifted apart,’ according to reports.
‘It’s amicable,’ a source allegedly told The Sun.
What’s more, Amber and Chris quit the ITVBe reality show, reportedly because their happy relationship ‘couldn’t bring any more drama’ – and we all know how explosive the TOWIE scenes can be.
At the time, Chris, 23, told OK! magazine: ‘[TOWIE] is very dramatic and it plays on people’s relationships, and I’m quite stable in my relationship with Amber.
‘We’ve just moved out and everything is going well. I just feel like I couldn’t bring anything else to the table, as in dramatically.’
Sadly, this doesn’t appear to have lasted. The source also revealed to The Sun: ‘They spent a lot of time together while filming TOWIE but now they’re not on the show they’ve spent less and less time with one another and they’ve drifted apart.’
As break-up reports emerged, Amber shared a cryptic tweet which read: ‘Quote of the day: today is the beginning of anything you want…’
Neither of them appear to have commented on the split rumours, so we’ll be keeping an eye out to see what’s really going on.

Many believe that Brooke Vincent's reaction showed her to be a 'sore loser'.
The Dancing on Ice final aired on Sunday night, with Jake Quickenden coming out on top.
The former X Factor contestant and his partner Vanessa Bauer skated their way to victory, while Brooke Vincent and Matej Silecky took second place.
But some viewers seem to have taken issue with the Coronation Street star’s reaction to Jake’s win, after she cheekily asked host Phillip Schofield if it was a ‘fix.’
‘You know what they say – first the worst, second the best,’ Brooke, 25, joked.
‘It’s been absolutely amazing and you can’t take that away from them [Jake and Vanessa]. Every week we’ve all been there, we’ve all been trying to put in the work and someone had to win.
‘Well done to Jake and Vanessa,’ she finished. ‘Are you sure it’s not a fix?!’
Putting an end to any potential speculation before it had a chance to start, Schofe replied: ‘It’s not a fix, that’s for sure.’
It’s fair to say that many viewers failed to see the funny side, with some branding the soap star a ‘sore loser.’
“She was joking”…certainly didn’t come across that way, not even close! Most cringy moment on TV in quite a while….#brooke#dancingonice
so glad #jakequickenden won #DancingOnIce how dare #BrookeVincent take a swipe at Jake he was a far better skater then her she shouldnt have been in the final two either poor loser springs to mind
Joke or not Brooke Vincent saying 'first the worst, second the best' and 'are you sure it isnt a fix', is the least dignified response she could have given. Very poor showmanship. #DancingOnIce
‘Most cringey moment on TV in quite a while,’ wrote one Twitter user.
‘How dare #BrookeVincent take a swipe at Jake he was a far better skater then her,’ another added.
Sadly, some were even questioning whether or not she should have been in the final of the ITV show, but others jumped to her defence.
What's with all the Brooke bashing on here. She holds her own out there & easily the most improved of the whole comp. Give her some bloody credit. Go Brooke #DancingOnIce#GirlPower
#DancingOnIce I'd like to see you lot who are slagging off Brooke try to skate like she can now. From Bambi on Ice to doing the Bolero. Give the girl a break. It's a public vote so the public think she deserves to be in the final.
One fan hit back: ‘I’d like to see you lot who are slagging off Brooke try to skate like she can now. From Bambi on Ice to doing the Bolero. Give the girl a break. It’s a public vote so the public think she deserves to be in the final.’
Jake, 29, took to his own Twitter account after the show, sharing an emotional message for fans.
He wrote: ‘Thank you to every single person that voted and supported!! I can’t believe it honestly everyone did themselves proud!! Met some amazing people and learnt an amazing new skill!!! THANK YOU’.
Whether you want mega lengths or va-va-volume, we've got the extensions for you...
Finding the best quality hair extensions for you (and your budget) isn’t always easy. And with everyone from Kim Kardashian to Shay Mitchell showing off XXL lengths, we’ve never been more in the market to try out extensions. If you’re thinking of taking the plunge, here’s what you need to know…
Best Clip In Hair Extensions
Clip-In Hair Extensions: Aka your quick-fix, for the commitment-shy.
Clip-in hair extensions are eaaaaaasy. Simply section off the top half of your hair then clip in the extensions and let the rest of your hair loose. For a serious volume boost go for Beauty Works Clip-In Weft, from £85. Or we also love Hair Rehab London’s Original Clip-in extensions, from £99.99. These come with various sized wefts that can be strategically placed to give you added volume where you want it. Disguise clips further by spraying the root with a temporary root concealer, which will help to blend the extension naturally into your hair. We like the L’Oreal Magic Retouch Root Touch-Up, £8.99
Best Tape In Hair Extensions
Tape in hair extensions are a fairly new addition to the hair extension world, but are perfect for first time wearers wanting extra length or volume. They are super speedy to apply (they can literally be applied in your lunch break) and last for 6-8 weeks. After 8 weeks, you can get them removed in salon and reuse the hair up to three times. Each weft of hair is attached to the root by a hypoallergenic sticky tab – that lies flat on the hair, without pulling or damaging the hair follicle.
This is the option that just keeps on giving. The extension is attached to your own hair using a metal ring. It’s fed through a tiny ring along with your own hair, then clamped in place just below your roots. Like tapes, once the hair begins to grow out, it can simply be moved back up the strand to the root. This means you don’t have to invest in new hair every time.
Sewn-In Hair Extensions
Aka a weave. This is when your own hair is tightly braided along your scalp in rows, and then a weft of hair extensions is sewn along the braid. The hair itself can last for around 6 months, but you have to go back to your Stylist every 4 weeks to get the braids tightened.
Pre-Bonded Hair Extensions
These extensions come with a bond attached to the top of the hair extension. Brands like Beauty Works and Great Lengths have keratin formulas that help to protect your own hair. The extensions are placed against the roots then the bond is heated, melting the adhesive to your own hair. They can last longer than other extensions, usually around 3-4months, with maintenance appointments every couple of months to keep hair looking flawless.
It’s difficult to pin down an exact cost for long-term hair extensions. That’s because it varies on a lot of different things. Everything from where in the UK you live, which brand of hair extensions you choose and how much your Stylist charges to fit can affect the price. At London’s Vixen & Blush salon prices start from £300 for a quarter head of extensions. Where as Hershesons prices start at £150 – and depend on how many you need to put in.
If you’re thinking about taking going for hair extensions… here are our favourite spots where you can guarantee a perfect finish:
Urban Retreat at Harrods is where resident hair extension expert, Bradley King, specialises in all types of hair extension methods, so you’re guaranteed to find the right ones for you.
Vixen & Blush is a specialist hair extension salon that make custom-blend bonded and micro-ring hair extensions in-house.
Hershesons Great Lengths Tapes start from £150, which includes a consultation, colour match and fitting.
Still not sure which extensions are right for you? We’ve rounded up some of our faves… whether you want length, volume or a sky-high ponytail. Swipe through our gallery to find which is right for you here…
Alik, who originally hails from America, made his appearance alongside Oliver Proudlock to promote the new series of MIC, which comes back to our screens on Monday night at 9pm.
‘It just became very clear that I wanted to be in some form of entertainment, and not working this desk job,’ Alik said of his return to reality television. ‘So just s***ing off the pile… I can’t curse.’
Oops.
Considering the show airs at 10am on a Sunday (waaay before the watershed, obvs) host Tim Lovejoy quickly stepped in to apologise to viewers.
But many seemed to find the candid moment pretty funny, with tweets including:
I actually quite enjoyed @oliverproudlock and @alikalfus on #sundaybrunch, more interesting than other reality celebs, and they don't deny they've used it as a platform. Plus love a live swear apology
Made In Chelsea will be coming back for its 15th series, and Alik’s big return is expected to cause a little drama for ex girlfriend Louise and her new beau Ryan Libbey.
And, if one photo posted to Alik’s Instagram is anything to go by, old favourites Francis Boulle, Jamie Laing, Sam Thompson and Proudlock will also be joining him.
We’ll be tuning in on Monday night to see how it all unfolds.

Winter dresses come and go, but here at LOOK HQ we believe in looking good and feeling great whatever the season, which is why we’ve gone to the effort of finding the very best winter dresses to buy this year. Indeed, they’re comfy and cosy, but equally as chic as every other season.
When the sunny weather is well and truly gone and winter comes knocking, it’s time to rethink your key wardrobe essentials.
The first step is to rethink texture; it’s now all about heavy-duty materials that will keep you warm on those cold days – go for tweed and woven fabrics, which will work just as well in your work wardrobe as it will your off-duty, and with the picks we have here, you’ll look like you just walked off the catwalk.
Ribbed knits are a key trend, and what better way to wear it than working it in a midi dress style? It’s the easiest throw-on winter dress for the season – no ironing required, might we add.
As for prints, don’t ditch them – just swap them. Choose deep winter florals over bright blooms and warm tartans over colourful checks.
BEST WINTER DRESSES
These are your fail-safe staples that can be layered up with knits and a coat, paired with fishnets and flats for ultimate comfort.
Do you feel that often your options for autumn and winter dresses are very party focused? We’ve found the best winter dresses that aren’t all about sequins.
The greatest thing about these gorgeous day dresses, are that you’ll wear them again and again – AND you can style and layer them, so you get more outfits for your buck! What’s not to like?
And for when the temperature really drops, you’ll need some dress-spiration for keeping warm, while still looking stylish. These cool casual winter dresses would look UH-MAZING paired with knee-high boots, chunky-knit jumpers in bright colours (we’re all obsessed with red this season) and almost floor-length, oversized wool coats. To up the cosy-factor, add a wide-brimmed wool hat and super long scarf you can wrap around.
The One Direction star shared a special shout-out on Mother's Day...
Liam Payne wasn’t going to let Mother’s Day pass without paying tribute to his other half, and mother of his child, Cheryl.
The former One Direction star thanked his girlfriend for ‘making the first year of my sons [sic] life incredible’ in an emotional Twitter post.
Taking to the social media site to share the message with fans, Liam also extended his shout-out to his own mum Karen.
He wrote: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there and the two best mums I know my own mum and momma [bear emoji] thanks for making the first year of my sons life incredible I’ve never seen love like this before it really is special and amazing to watch [sic]’.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there and the two best mums I know my own mum and momma thanks for making the first year of my sons life incredible I’ve never seen love like this before it really is special and amazing to watch x
Aside from the fact that a lot of his followers – no doubt from his US travels – seemed a little confused about the date, many gushed about his adorable words.
‘Aww this is the sweetest thing ever,’ one fan replied.
‘this is so sweet im so happy for you, cheryl & bear & hope you’re all doing well [sic],’ another said.
Meanwhile, Cheryl posted the cutest throwback of herself with mother Joan.
The former X Factor star captioned the snap: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers doing the best for their children. I hope today you are feeling loved and appreciated ’.
Whatever your skin concern, there's a cream for you..
@glossier
Trying to find the best face cream for your skin can be tricky. And especially with winter (and the arctic temperatures and ice cold winds) our skin takes a beating. Extra moisture is needed to keep your skin looking glowing and radiant during the winter months, so we’ve put together the best face creams to get you through the big chill. Whether you’ve got oily, dry, or problem skin, there is a face cream on this list for you.
No matter what your skin type, concern or age – a face cream is a #1 skincare essential. Especially in winter, because the change of seasons, colder weather and central heating systems cause havoc on our complexions. Plus – drier skin is more prone to fine lines and wrinkles. AND skin lacking moisture can look dull, too. So if that’s not enough to convince you to slather on a face cream, we don’t know what is. Whether you’re in need of a super-rich hydrating cream – like Bobbi Brown’s Hydrating Face Cream – 0r something more lightweight like Nivea’s Day Cream, we’ve got one perfect for you.
The Best Face Cream For Dry Skin
Dry skin is in extra need of essential moisture. Look for formulas with hyaluronic acid – which will help to hydrate skin by attracting moisture into the skin. Ingredients like hemp seed oil or shea butter are also great at locking in moisture and keeping skin plump and supple.
If you’ve got sensitive skin you want a moisturiser to hydrate without irritating the skin. Not sure how to tell if your skin is sensitive? If your complexion feels dry and tight after cleansing (or looks red) you could have skin sensitivities. The good news is, we’ve rounded up the best face cream for sensitive skin too.
You might think oily skin doesn’t need extra moisture… wrong! By applying extra moisture on top of oily skin, you can trick your skin into thinking it’s already hydrated – therefore making your skin stop producing so much oil. Sure, you might not need a heavy-duty moisturiser like your dry skinned pals – but something lightweight and nourishing is still needed.
For oily skin, we love La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo[+], £16. It’s non-comedogenic meaning it won’t clog pores. Plus at just £16 it’s a steaaaaaaal.
So whatever your skin concern (or budget) here’s our favourites out there – so you can find the best face cream for you…

Finding the best liquid eyeliner can be tricky. But since liquid eyeliner is most definitely a make-up essential in the LOOK office; we need to find the perfect one!
Which is why we’ve taken the time to round up our all time favourite eyeliners. Whether you’re after the best waterproof liquid eyeliner or the best liquid eyeliner pen, it’s all here in our edit.
And don’t worry if you’re just getting started – we’ve narrowed down the best liquid eyeliners for beginners, too, to help you get started.
What is the best liquid eyeliner for beginners?
If you’re not a seasoned liquid liner pro you may struggle at perfecting that feline flick. Lucky for you we’ve tested out a whole lot of liners and we know which ones are easy as pie to put on. When you’re not used to applying eyeliner, it can be hard to get the lines straight and the flick looking even. Ciate London’s Chisel Eye Liner, £16 has an angled tip though that makes it so easy to use – it’s like liner for dummies. We also love L’Oreal’s Superliner Perfect Slim Intense, £6.99 and Benefit’s Push Up They’re Real Eyeliner, £20.
But then comes that burning question… How to apply liquid eyeliner? Well, with loads of different formulas it can be hard to know where to start. But if you’re trying to recreate a cat flick, or want to frame your eyes with a super slim line – then liquid eyeliner will give you the freedom to get creative.
Still worried your unsteady hand will result in a wobbly line? Well, worry no more. Many applicators are now much thicker, allowing for ease of use and highly pigmented colour.
What is the best waterproof liquid eyeliner?
If you’ve spent a good 10 minutes making sure your liner is spot on, you definitely don’t want it coming off. A waterproof eyeliner is a very good idea. Not just in summer, but in winter too. Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, £14.50 is totally waterproof and will not budge, whether or not you get caught in the rain or decide to go for a dip in the pool.
And if you’re still after that perfectly precise cat-eye, try our secret cheat. Hold a credit card up to the outer corner of your eye and angle it up towards the end of your eyebrow. Draw a dot where you want your liner to begin and end, and join them up using the card as a guide.
If you’re after something a bit more fun – there’s a tonne of coloured liners on the market to choose from, too. From matte to glossy, they’re something different from your everyday black. Plus – they’re perf for festivals and summer.
So whether you want flirty feline flicks or colour-pop peepers, have a browse of our gallery for the very best on the high street – there’s no excuse not to get arty with your eyes.

LOOK's Laura Jane Turner just wanted an opportunity to gush about her first love. And, she was called Joni...
I’m pear-shaped and proud.
At around the age of twelve (yup, I was an early bloomer) puberty came a’knocking. Along with the spots, periods and awkward mood swings, I developed some pretty thick thighs, wide hips and a pretty chunky behind.
I’m all about loving my natural shape. But, as much as I’ve embraced my curves, they don’t come without their hang-ups.
I’m sure that most you reading this will agree; once you’ve found the perfect pair, the holy grail, The One in denim form, you don’t want to let go.
My jeans epiphany happened a long while ago. During one particularly stressful ‘jeans shop’, after trying on what felt like my gazillionth pair, I found them.
If my life was a movie (just waiting on that phone call to come through any day now), my changing room mirror would have been surrounded by a golden glow and I would have had a chorus of ‘Hallelujah’ playing out behind me.
I’d met Topshop’s Joni. And, in that moment, I knew I’d found my life partner and that I’d never stray.
Well if I’m being real with you, at £36 a pair, I have been known to invest in a cheaper option. But nothing quite fits like Joni. They’re super high-waisted and, to be blunt, suck everything in around my belly area. I always make sure I have at least one pair in my ‘drobe.
What’s more, by some wizardry that I still don’t understand, I can wear them sans belt and they don’t leave that gape around the back of the waist. It’s probably something to do with the elastane in the material, but magic sounds a lot more fun, right?
From tragus to daith piercings - we've got all the ear piercing inspo you'll ever need
Ear piercings are having a major moment and the coolest way to work the trend is by mix and matching single studs and hoops. So the more holes you’ve got, the more effective the look. Capiche?
But there’s no need to rush off to your nearest piercing parlour in a panic; Asos’s wear-anywhere ear cuffs or Claire’s clip on hoops are a great alternative if you don’t fancy punching any more holes in your cartilage.
If you are however considering another ear-embellishment then why not follow in the footsteps of the fash pack who are all getting pierced with dainty and delicate high-end jewellery. Yup, gone are the days of chunky steel hoops with a fugly ball bearing fastening, this summer is all about luxe lobes. Jewellery designer and piercer to the stars, Maria Tash, may have something to do with it. She’s pierced everyone from Beyonce to Gwyneth using her own body jewellery line, Venus. If the piercing itself didn’t hurt her celeb fans then the bill might have done; her earrings can cost anything up to the region of $23k! Ouch!
For something a little more realistic check out BVLA aka Body Vision Los Angeles – a range of luxury body jewellery that’s now being used by many top piercers as their weapon of choice across a number of stores and boutiques in the UK including London’s Love Hate Social Club. These jewels will set you back about £60 but seeing as they mostly feature high quality metals, semi-precious stones and even diamonds we can kinda see why!
For those of you wanting to work with what you’ve already got take a visit to Dinny Hall – here you can browse a tonne of statement studs all sold separately with mix and matching in mind. We’re sold!
