'I'm doing the same job, whether I'm with my husband or any other male co-presenter...'

Ruth Langsford now ‘insists on being paid the same’ as her male co-stars, which just so happens to include her husband Eamonn ­Holmes.

The presenter of ITV’s This Morning and Loose Women has spoken out about the gender pay gap, and she’s not afraid to say that she knows her worth.

Ruth told The Sun: ‘I insist now on being paid the same. I insist now that I do. But as we all know, in the past I’ve worked not just with Eamonn.

‘The thing is you don’t normally discuss your pay when you’re a co-presenter, but obviously I do with my husband because he’s my husband.’

She added: ‘I basically wouldn’t work for them if they weren’t paying me the same if I’m doing the same job, whether I’m with my husband or any other male co-presenter.’

Ruth and Eamonn first started hosting This Morning together back in 2000. Announcing their engagement live on air nine years later, the couple have become a firm fan-favourite.

There’s been an awful lot of talk about the pay disparities between males and females in television, especially after the BBC revealed its list of highest-earning stars last year.

As ITV isn’t publicly funded, it didn’t officially reveal the salaries for its stars in the same way.

But, at the time, ITV chairman Sir Peter Bazalgette did issue a statement to highlight: ‘We take gender issues, employment and pay very seriously as a company.’

Refreshingly, Ruth’s career has continued to go from strength-to-strength.

‘If you’d asked me 10 years ago, I probably would have said they’d put me out to grass right now,’ she joked.

‘I’m 58 this year and I’ve actually got more work in the past two years than I’ve had in my whole career.’

'My mental health is not entertainment...'

Iain Lee, who took part in the latest series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, walked out of his appearance on Channel 5’s The Wright Stuff on Tuesday morning.

The radio presenter had previously revealed on his talkRADIO show that his marriage has broken down, explaining: ‘It’s miserable and I feel weird after Australia. My head’s all over the place.

‘My marriage has ended. I’m getting divorced.’

The 44-year-old made it clear that he did not want his personal life to be discussed during his time on The Wright Stuff. So after host Matthew Wright tried to bring it up a number of times, Iain left the studio.

‘I’ve said three times to your producers I’m not talking about this,’ Iain told him on the daytime show. ‘I’m not talking about it. It’s private, it’s my life…’

After yet more probing, Iain later said: ‘I’m so close to telling you to f- off and walking off right now.’

Sure enough, after the following advert break, Lee appeared to have walked out and was not seen for the rest of the show.

Taking to Twitter to explain his decision, he said: ‘My mental health is not entertainment. My personal life is not entertainment. I am fine. Better than I’ve been for a long time.’

He then added: ‘I’ll be donating today’s fee of £280 to @samaritans I didn’t earn that money and I certainly don’t want it. Let’s see some good come of something so unpleasant.’

Viewers of the show were divided. One fan wrote: ‘Watch @5WrightStuff often but today I don’t understand why it was acceptable to push @iainlee about his mental health. He can talk whenever or wherever he wants to. Or not.’

Another said: ‘I find it most disturbing that @Matthew_Wright thinks he can badger a guest on his show with clear disregard and disrespect for his personal issues…’

Kendall Jenner was reportedly hospitalised shortly before her red carpet appearance at Vanity Fair’s Oscars Party Sunday evening after suffering a bad reaction to a vitamin IV drip.

Sources told The Blast that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star and supermodel, 22, checked into Cedars Sinai Medical Center in LA this weekend, where she was treated for the reaction and was released a short time later.

Jenner seemed to recover quickly as she stopped traffic on the red carpet at the Oscars soirée wearing a plunging black Redemption mini dress and emerald drop earrings.

The supermodel’s red carpet moment comes after her surprising decision to skip the runways during Fashion Month.

The star also appeared on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet back in January, where haters called out Jenner’s visible acne, to which she responded, ‘Never let that s— stop you!’

The Prince’s Trust Awards took place at the London Palladium on Tuesday, with a whole host of celebrities stepping out for the star-studded event to meet Prince Charles.

Famous attendees included Ant and Dec, Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs and, of course, our favourite Geordie Cheryl.

The former X Factor judge has been busy promoting her new youth centre, in conjunction with the Prince’s Trust, which was set-up to help unemployed young people across the north east.

Cheryl has previously said: ‘Too many young people grow up thinking no one cares and they don’t believe they can make anything of themselves. I want my trust to help them realise their potential and get their lives back on track.’

At Tuesday night’s event, Prince Charles met with the celebrity ambassadors and gave a speech.

Cheryl even got a special mention, as the 69-year-old poked fun at her ever-changing surname.

‘I thought to myself some time ago “who’s Cheryl Tweedy?” I suddenly realised I knew the Cheryl bit but missed out on the Tweedy,’ he said.

‘I can’t keep up with all the changes of names that the companies do either.’

After the LOL moment, he got straight back to business and added: ‘But I’m enormously grateful to her for raising £1 million pounds.’

‘They have asked for no presents as they don’t want to spoil Bear and they are hosting at their house,’ a friend of the pair says.

And instead of throwing a big party, Cheryl and Liam are apparently only inviting their nearest and dearest to the celebration.

The reality TV star spoke out during Wednesday's episode of Loose Women...

Jess Impiazzi has quite the colourful TV career, having previously taken part in The Only Way Is Essex and MTV’s Ex On The Beach. But you’re probably more likely to recognise her from the most recent series of Celebrity Big Brother, which she took part in alongside Courtney Act – who went on to win – and Ann Widdecombe.

Today the reality TV star took a guest seat on the Loose Women panel, opening up about her past and her struggle with depression.

‘I got hit with depression, I didn’t know what it was at the time, but I dropped out of school,’ Jess said on the ITV daytime show.

‘My favourite teacher said my light had gone out. When you’re feeling like that, you can’t sing and dance. I didn’t want to see anyone and I just wanted to hide all the time.’

Jess has previously spoken out about her mother Debbie’s loss of sight and the fact that she looked after her. Tragically, her baby nephew had passed away just a few months before too.

‘I went on anti-depressants and she was keeping me going as she needed me,’ she continued on Loose Women. ‘I felt like I was a burden to everybody. I was so depressed.’

Teigen, 32, announced on her Instagram Wednesday that the couple’s beloved bulldog Puddy had passed away.

‘Today our baby, Puddy, has gone on to the pup heavens. John and I got Puddy in our first year of dating, when I convinced him half-birthday presents were a real thing,’ Teigen wrote in her goodbye post to the loyal canine.

The star recently shared the first ever picture of her baby boy on Twitter, having confirmed the sex of her second child at the Grammys earlier this year.

Puddy, who Teigen and Legend brought home 10 years ago, has been with the lovebirds through ‘every up, down, new house, new city, new tour, new travel. He welcomed new pups and loved on new babies and new bellies.’

Meghan Markle is one step closer to becoming an official member of the royal family.

The bride-to-be was baptised into the Church of England on Tuesday evening in a ceremony conducted by Justin Welby the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Daily Mail reports.

During the 45-minute ceremony, which took place at at the Chapel Royal at St. James Palace in London, the Archbishop used holy water from the River Jordan as part of the ritual.

The hush-hush event was a closely guarded secret and was attended by only a few members of the royal family, including Markle’s fiancé Prince Harry and her future in-laws, Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Immediately following her baptism, Markle was confirmed into the Church of England, which means she’ll be able to take Holy Communion along with Prince Harry.

While Markle did not need to become an Anglican in order to get married in the church, she decided to join to honour Queen Elizabeth, who is the head of the Church of England.

We watched Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood break up and get back together more times than we can remember during last year’s Love Island.

But on Wednesday evening, fans of the former reality couple were left shocked when they got a glimpse into the pair’s fiery relationship on their new show, Crackin’ On.

Chris met Olivia on Love Island last year

Of course we now know the pair have split up, but the ITVBe spin-off follows Chris and Liv as they attempted to salvage their romance by moving into a five bedroom house together. What could go wrong?

Sure enough, they wasted no time in bickering about absolutely everything from decorating to moving boxes.

But things soon turned more serious when 25-year-old Chris accused his ex of ‘disrespecting’ him by going to a house party packed with lads.

‘If I went to a house party with a load of birds there and I stayed the night I think you’d be livid,’ he slammed.

Liv then hit back: ‘No boys stayed’, before Chris raged: ‘It doesn’t matter, you would be livid. It’s double standards. Self-respect, it’s f***ing self-respect.’

Things soon escalated and the feud ended with 27-year-old Liv branding her former beau ‘shady as f***.’

Naturally, the Internet had a lot to say about all the drama, with most fans totally divided over who was to blame.

‘I’ve had to turn off #ChrisandOlivia #CrackinOn… absolutely brutal. I genuinely love them, but why is @oliviajade_att so rude??’ said one viewer.

While another wrote: ‘Chris is a giant man child that can literally do nothing for himself – I’d crack up even worse than Olivia has’.

Despite all the tears and tantrums, Chris has since suggested that things might not be completely over with Liv after he admitted on Lorraine that the pair are still ‘obsessed with each other’.

‘I look at us like twin flames. We’re both very obsessed and crazy about each other’, he said.

‘When it was good it was amazing, but when it’s not what it could be we just end up bickering. We still speak, we talk every day, I’m still obsessed with her.’

Chris then added: ‘I still love her like I loved her before.’

Can we sense a reunion?

You might have noticed that today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day.

We’d be willing to bet that your social media feed is flooded with inspirational quotes and GIRL POWER vibes (*sigh*, why can’t it be #IWD everyday?) but, if you happen to be living in Lynwood, California or you follow McDonald’s on Twitter, you may have also spotted something else.

Yup. Our favourite fast food chain has decided that it’s high time to make a stand – and, by flipping its famous ‘M’ on its head, it is sending a message about equality.

A representative for Maccy D’s told Business Insider that the upside-down arches are in ‘celebration of women everywhere.’

Sure enough, the artwork on McDonald’s USA Twitter account has been changed to reflect the reverse ‘M’ logo. What’s more, over 100 restaurants have reportedly been kitted out with special ‘packaging’ and ‘crew shirts’ for the big day.

‘In celebration of women everywhere, and for the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches for International Women’s Day in honour of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in our restaurants,’ Wendy Lewis, McDonald’s global chief diversity officer, said in a statement.

Amongst some confusion, Twitter seems to be divided by the move.

With current conversations surrounding sexual harassment (including the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements), debates around legislations that directly affect women’s rights over their own bodies and the ongoing issue of the gender pay gap, there’s been quite a bit of chat around whether this campaign has fallen a little flat.

The couple are encouraging young women to break gender stereotypes and pursue the career they want...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited Birmingham to spread an important message about gender stereotyping on Thursday, marking International Women’s Day in a particularly special way.

The royal couple paid a visit to a secondary school to meet with young girls that were working towards their futures, taking part in a range of activities that included a networking event with local businesses and a panel discussion.

The much-loved pair, who will be married in May, were met by hundreds of well-wishes who had waited out to meet them.

Their arrival was announced on Kensington Palace’s Twitter account, which also pointed out the important reason for their visit.

‘To celebrate #IWD2018 , Prince Harry and Ms. Markle are attending an event hosted by @Stemettes that aims to inspire the next generation of women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM),’ the tweet read.

Meghan has made no secret of the fact that she plans to continue campaigning for women’s rights, despite the fact that her marriage into the Royal Family could come with an expectation of political neutrality.

Expressing her excitement to ‘hit the ground running’ in her new charitable role, she used her very first appearance alongside the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William to speak out about the Time’s Up movement, making her the first of the four to do so.

‘I think right now in the climate we are seeing so many campaigns, I mean #MeToo and Time’s Up, and there is no better time to really continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered, and people really helping to support them – men included,’ she said.

Ever since Street Feast first launched in London in 2012 we’ve been obsessed, from the unbeatable food and booze to the very concept itself.

For those that are unfamiliar, Street Feast transforms derelict and disused spaces into cool and unique eating and drinking areas – we’re talking everything from car parks and rooftops to old markets and office blocks. It’s seriously cool.

Already established in the capital, with spots in Lewisham, Bermondsey and Battersea to name a few, the growing brand has added another venue to its list just this month – and it might be our favourite yet.

Introducing Woolwich Public Market.

The Venue:

The 86-year old former covered market has been transformed into the latest twinkly feasting area – and featuring an arched rainbow roof, two mezzanine levels and a massive ground floor space – it’s definitely the right place to go for South-East London vibes and craft beer.

What should I eat?

Being Street Feast, there is of course your typical street food stands – boasting everything from Yum Bun and Yumplings to Burger & Beyond and INK. But Woolwich Market’s real selling point is its new finds – Salt Shed, HENhaus, Lava Bar and Rust Bucket Pizza Co.

Don’t know what to order? We’ve got you covered. Salt Shed’s cured salt beef short rib steak is a must try – coming with sweet potato, carrot and potato fries and chilli-churro, and you can’t miss a HENhaus rotisserie chicken. But if you’re choosing date food or want to go halves with a friend, a melty wood-fired pizza from Rust Bucket or chilli and lime salted Cod Nuggets from INK is probably the right move.

In terms of your Instagram feed however, Lava Bar is definitely your best bet – pick up a molten pudding topped with cereal milk ice cream, complete with doughnuts filled with warm fudge cookie dough and butterscotch sauce. We’re not joking – it is unreal.

What should I drink?

What’s a street feast without great booze? Luckily Woolwich Market has got it covered – from killer cocktails to craft beers. For romantic dates, head straight to Street Vin and find a candlelit corner to sample some wines but if you’re in the mood for spirits, Gin Kitchen’s boozy botanicals and the frozen Pina Coladas at Rumhole are not to be missed.

Woolwich Public Market is open Fridays from 5pm till late and Saturdays from 12pm till late.
