Steps’ Faye Tozer Slams The Little Mix Girls For Their ‘Raunchy’ Touch Video

The singer says her young son is 'embarrassed' by LM's recent single

Faye Tozer has hit out at Little Mix for being ‘too raunchy’.

The Steps singer, 41, recently reunited with her bandmates to release new single Scared Of The Dark, but reckons things have changed for pop stars since their heyday back in the 90s.

She tells the Daily Mirror: ‘[Little Mix]’s new video is too raunchy for my little boy. My little boy gets embarrassed, their new video is too raunchy for him to handle.’

Faye – who’s mum to son Benjamin, eight, with husband Michael Smith – says she much prefers Steps’ wholesome image.

She continues: ‘I’m glad that we are from a band which is so family friendly. I like lots of music but I wouldn’t push it in the kids’ faces. What do you do as a parent?’

It sounds as though Faye is talking about the recently-released Touch video – and she isn’t the only one to have criticised it.

During a sequence of sexy routines, we see Perrie Edwards, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall grind on some rather handsome male dancers.

One viewer wrote on YouTube: ‘Then just.. this song is fine, but this is probably the WORST music video I’ve ever seen. What were those dance moves? It looks like they were humping a squirrel.’

Others said: ‘These overly sexualised videos are banned in my house,’ and: ‘What happened to a clean music video… everythings out im so shocked [sic].’

Hmm. But isn’t it great that the girls are quite clearly confident and proud of their bodies?

Faye has since clarified her comments, Tweeting: ‘I said my 8 year old find’s their latest video too sexy & he gets embarrassed. I think they look incredible and I’m a big fan! [sic].’

When a follower posted a glamour shot of Faye from the 90s and asked: ‘Did this make your son uncomfortable, or was it only the touch music video? 🤔,’ she responded: ‘This was for FHM – a men’s magazine- but yes – totally! He would be well embarrassed about this!! He’s 8! .’

And after they accused Faye of ‘belittling’ Little Mix, she said: ‘I wasn’t- They look amazing. I said my 8 year old boy got embarrassed coz its sexy! X.

‘It’s normal & healthy for kids to react like that. It’s cute ☺️.’
