As we have our daily, OK hourly, Instagram scroll we can’t help but spot that the influencers are obsessing over on particular accessory this season.
We all remember those H&M tassels earrings that literally everyone has (they’re still available in most colours, FYI), and those Gucci backless loafers every street styler saved up for. Well, there’s a new one – meet the belt bag.
Yep, it’s just like the ‘80s bum bags that used to be teamed with a satin sell suit (LOL) but way more stylish, of course.
The red Gucci padded style with gold logo would set you back a whopping £765, and unless we’re all willing to opt for a beans on toast dinner option for the next 55 years, we can’t see us investing in it anytime soon.
So, what do we do about this dilemma? We search the high street high and low and see what offerings they have as a super stylist substitute. And yes, obvs they’ve delivered.

Zara has a red number that will make you do a double take with the red Gucci number. OK, it’s not the real deal but at under £20, who’s going to complain? Pair with a red coat for a double fiery hit in the wardrobe department, or take your Prince of Wales checks to new heights by adding it to your suit combo.
Or make like the bloggers and team yours with a blazer to nip in the waist. Extra style points + savvy slimming tip = winner.

New Look also has jumped not he belt bag bandwagon, and we’re impressed. This cute little silver pouch belt bag is so adorable, it’ll amp up the glam factor for any outfit.
Whether we opt for silver or red or any other styles we can get our hands and waists on, we’re getting in on the action and making our Instagram debut with our new belt/bum back pretty soon. Stay tuned!
